Xiaomi is increasing its reach in categories except mobile phones and it is not playing catch-up either. Its latest 4K+ action camera is the first in the world to record 4K videos at almost 60 frames per second.
It has been made possible through a brand new 14nm Ambarella H2 chipset (instead of A9 earlier) along with its 4 ARM Cortex-A53 cores associated along with its 2 GB worth RAM.
The sensor on the front is a 12.3 megapixel Sony IMX377 lens together with the 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor.
It has support for features like electronic image stabilization, RAW support and also the VR headset support.
Away from the 4K 60 frames per second video, the consumer can also record 1080p videos at 120 frames per second, or 720p at an incredible 240 frames per second.
The Yi 4K+ can be controlled along with the voice commands to start/stop a video or capture photo while recording. A 2.91 inches touchscreen on the rear side can also be utilized like an alternative.
There is a remote USB Type-C port on the camera, a clear sign that the technology is currently expanding everywhere, which can transfer videos at 40 Mbps or it get connected together along with the external accessories, all of which from the earlier model are still supported. Otherwise, there is also a dual-band Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth 4.0.
An individual case will have to be brought along with the 4K+ if you have to make it waterproof.
Xiaomi is pricing its latest Action camera at $199, not a surprise considering how the company normally prices its offerings compared to the market.
However, the prices outside its home market will be likely higher.
